Bishops Landing

Facing North - View from the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel towards Bishops Landing and Halifax Waterfront.

The Westin Nova Scotian Hotel was built by the Canadian National Railways beginning in 1928 and opened on 23 June 1930 as the final part of the South End Terminal Project which had seen the new Halifax Railway Station moved from the North End to the south end of Hollis Street, as well as the opening of the Halifax Ocean Terminal, which included Pier 21, a trans-Atlantic ocean liner passenger terminal. Bishop’s Landing is an award-winning architecture blends private urban living with a world-class selection of shopping and dining in a waterfront setting.
